Occupational Safety & Health Administration

Workers in many different occupations are at risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Employers are urged to take advantage of available engineering controls and work practices to prevent exposure to blood and other body fluids.

Our Course promulgates the standard to eliminate or minimize occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Participants will learn about the major areas needed to comply with the standard. These areas include:

  • Contents of the OSHA standard
  • Epidemiology & symptoms of blood-borne diseases
  • Modes by which blood-borne diseases are transmitted
  • The Exposure Control Plan
  • Personal Protective Equipment

At the end of the course, an examination testing the students knowledge of the concepts discussed throughout the course will be issued. Each student will receive OSHA Workplace Blood Born Pathogens Certification upon successful completion of the course
